Matcha is the most exclusive green tea on the market. It is produced by denying the plants sunlight for the three weeks leading up to harvest. This builds up acids in the leaves which increase their sweetness. The most common Japanese green tea is Sencha. It is easily the most consumed green tea on the market, accounting for nearly three quarters of production.
Green tea is now available as an extract, which is more potent than brewed green teas. The extracts can be put into water like the tea normally would or you can even take it alone using a dropper. Green tea can also come in pill form, which can be taken as part of a health regimen.
